Home to pristine white beaches, unadulterated rainforests, colorful myths and legend, and of course, ethereal dive sites, Tioman is truly a haven for divers and backpackers alike.
Diving Tioman Through Liveaboard
Why is liveaboard the best way to dive Tioman? Not only you get to enjoy hotel comfort, you also get to skip the dreaded bus and boat ride in the middle of the night between Singapore and Mersing. Diving through liveaboard will also get you to dive the sites often too far for resorts to reach—like the Tiger Reef and Bahara Rock.
Tioman Dive Sites
Tioman dive sites are glorious—from the ecstatic Labas, the charming Renggis Island, the gorgonian-fans-abundant Chebeh, to the anemone studded Bahara Rock. Stunning nudibranchs and shrimps are also flourishing in Tioman as well as turtles, barracudas, stingrays, cuttlefish, reef sharks, parrotfish, moray eels and lionfish.
Best Time to Dive Tioman
During the months of March to May, and September to November, you can expect the best visibility (15 to 30 meters). During June to August, the visibility usually drops to around 8 to 12 meters though diving is still great. You also should not miss the mating season of cuttlefish on February.
